  • ​Two virtual town hall meetings on August 31 featured experts from the US Department of Education, the UC faculty and UC Human Resources explained how Public Service Loan Forgiveness works and how to apply.

  • On April 1, 2022, CUCEA and CUCRA hosted Jagdeep Singh Bachher, PhD in a Q & A moderated by Jim Chalfant, a UC Davis Agricultural and Resource Economics Emeritus and former chair of the UC Academic Council. Doctor Bachher is Chief Investment Officer and Vice President of Investments for the University of California. He is responsible for managing the UC pension, endowment, short-term, and total-return investment pools. The session is available for viewing here.

Eleventh Campus Report and
​Presentation to the UC RegentS

CUCEA Chair Jo Anne Boorkman, UCI Emeritus Professor Jim Danziger, and UCSF Emeritus Professor Ellen Weber made a well-received presentation to the UC Regents about CUCEA’s Eleventh Campus report at the July, 2023 meeting of the Regents’ Public Engagement and Development Committee.  President Boorkman spoke about the report, and Professors Danziger and Weber spoke about their many activities and contributions as emeriti.   • RASC Announces New Process for Survivor Benefits - The Survivor & Beneficiary Support team and telephone support line successfully launched at the Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC) on March 1, 2023. The Survivor & Beneficiary Support number is 1-888-825-6833. Read the announcement on UCnet.
  • The UC Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC) is making changes to make sure you get the help you need during UC’s Open Enrollment. Expanded customer service hours are Monday–Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (PT); visit the RASC Contact page on UCnet.

  • At our October 2021 CUCRA/CUCEA meeting, we were fortunate to meet with UC’s Chief Investment Officer, who summarized the performance and policies of the investment portfolio.
